Elgin Presbytery Youth Council

A group of Youth who come from different United Churhes in Elgin
with a clear goal of uniting the Youth of Elgin,
offering programming and leadership in many areas of our Church

On Saturday, November 10th Elgin Presbytery is sponsoring a day long event
(10 a.m. to 7 p.m.) at Pearce Williams Christian Centre.
The intention of this event is to introduce youth to Elgin Presbytery Youth Council (EPYC) coupled with EPYC’s annual Walk of Hope Event.
This event is open to youth grades 7 and up.

If you want to find out more about Elgin Presbytery Youth Council and participate in the Walk of Hope you will need to do the following by Nov. 4th.

1) Fill out a permission slip and get it to your Youth Leader. Download here
2) Arrange for transportation to and from Pearce Williams
3) Make sure any food allergies or medical conditions are listed on above form.

All of this MUST be in place by the stated date in order to attend

The activities of the day will include: 1) lunch and supper - food/drinks will be provided- will involve youth participation 2) Walk/Hike of Hope - enjoying hiking trails- proper dress/footwear essential 3) Games/Worship 4) Watch video of the 2007 Youth Forum Event 5) Display Table/Possible Guest Speaker(s)/Discussions around EPYC’s future 6) Making selections from the Gifts of Hope catalogue

If attending, we are asking groups/individuals to make an effort over the next few weeks to raise funds for the Walk of Hope.

We have raised over $1400 in the last two years to be used to make selections from the ‘Gifts of Hope’ catalogue.

Most congregations are familiar with this London Conference annual project and have welcomed the opportunity to respond. Make cheques payable to London Conference and get full names and addresses for issuing income tax receipts. On the day of this event we will pool our contributions and make our selections.

Funds have been raised in the past through congregational sponsorships and calendar sales. If youth groups are unable to organize find creative ways of raising funds on your own. Share your ideas with others. Bring funds with you on Nov. 10
